A Celtic goddess from the Welsh Mabinogion, Arianrhod is the keeper of the Silver Wheel of stars, symbol of time, kama and reincarnation. She is a mother aspect of the ancient triple Goddess, and is also associated with beauty and fertility.
I designed the knotwork myself based on a twelve point circular grid - to represent the turning of the twelve months of the year. The continuous knot also represents the flow of life, ever interweaving and changing form in an eternal pattern. Painted for  's Celtic myths and legends contest8.5in x 8.5in watercolour |
